Idar-Oberstein is the city where I grew up, live and work. Even as a small boy I watched my father at his work, which fascinated me more and more. And early on, I always said to him that I wanted to become a gemstone engraver as well. Now I have been working in this profession for more than 30 years and it still fascinates me to work the gemstones in a way that they get a "face" and tell us their story.

In 1993 I became national winner in the practical performance competition of the craftsmen's youth and in 1999 I passed the master craftsman's examination in gemstone cutting and engraving.

It is important to me to always break new ground with my ideas - what has never existed in the art of stone cutting is my challenge and this is what I would like to present in my home country, the gemstone country. Even if my works, wherever they are shown, cause a sensation, the roots of my artistic work are here in EdelSteinLand. Every visitor feels this power and fascination that emanates from our region, the unique works of art that are created here and the special people who create these works of art, and I invite everyone to experience this with us.
